ABOUT this podcast:

All Christians worship in a particular stream of Christianity. But no single movement carries it all. Dave Olson, Heartland Church senior leader, firmly believes this. Fell into drugs, became homeless, then God saved and healed him. He wants to give away what he's learned. He sits down with all kinds of people, especially Christian leaders making an impact locally and globally. Here to challenge those who think the gifts of the Spirit are for today, by helping them root it in the Bible. And challenge the one who isn't so sure the gifts are for today but loves the Word and is cautiously open.

This is not the first time these two men have met at a table. But it is the first time here where they dive deep together in conversation on the God-orchestrated story that sent the Olson family on a trajectory that made a way for the calling on Dave's life and cleared the way for numerous lives to collide with King Jesus in this region. Today, Dave is at the table with his dad, Jim Olson.

Dave Olson meets at the table with Jason Kirsch, the lead facilitator with the Nebraska Christian Leaders Forum. The body of Christ is BIG, linked together by the Spirit of God, but with groups separated by subtle differences in the way they believe about God. Dave and Jason talk about an effort to unite pastors and Christian leaders despite their theological dividing lines. They emphasize topics here of connecting the body of Christ, how Jesus' church is built, and a foundation of prayer.

Nebraska Christian Leaders Forum (NECLF) is a connecting point and a resource center for Christian leaders in Nebraska with a mission to empower and equip leaders with the tools and knowledge they need to make a positive impact in their communities. NECLF believes the best way to impact the world is to foster servant leadership.

The perseverance of his family's prayers is abundantly clear in his story. Dave and Tony find their way into elements of Tony's story that emphasizes the delight Father God has for His children, the pitfalls of finding your identity in your work, and ultimately what radical obedience to the Lord looks like.

Tony serves as a pastor at LifePointe Church, bringing pastoral leadership to their discipleship culture and the development of leaders. Tony and his wife, Kayla, have three children. Prior to that, Tony pioneered Chi Alpha at the University of Iowa.

This week Dave Olson sits down at the table with Doug Harris, who pastors in Pella, Iowa. They dive into the journey Doug and his wife Rachelle took from California to a church in a small Iowa community with Dutch heritage. This episode is about stepping out into the unknown, in faith, bold leadership and boundaries. Doug has been the lead pastor of Pella Open Bible Church (a Pentecostal Charismatic church) since 2012. Doug and Rachelle are apostolic in their leadership style.
