Dave Austin Fishing

The Dave Cave Studio build has commenced and with a break between laying carpet and painting, late on a Wednesday Night in October I decide to test my audio gear and record a podcast with Eric Brandao (Fishsthetic Lures) and discuss lure making, Kingfish in Sydney, Marlin, Mulloway and other stuff where the conversation takes us. A completely non structured fishing podcast format. I hope you enjoy the episode and enjoy the laidback humour and laughs.

Are you about to enter the world of 2nd hand vessels and buy your first boat and need to know what to watch out for, how to maintain your investment or absolutely anything that’s involved? Then this my friends and legends is the episode for you. We talk to Marine Mechanic Stevie Stixx from SS Marine Services in the parramatta area and he has been kind enough to talk us through this process.

Having racked up over 70K subscribers on his YouTube channel, Shroom is becoming a household name amongst those fishos opting to add a GoPro along with their fishing gear to chase a myriad of species. With my YouTube channel having racked up a mere 4K plus subscribers on my YouTube, Shroom and I discuss suburban fishing during lockdowns as we both limited to accessing waterways within a 5km radius.

Eric aka @Fishsthetics returns to discuss the Alter-Natives ⬅️ see what i did there? Native and non native species etc 😂 🤦‍♂️ ALTERNATIVES to fishing during lockdown hitting Sydney’s south west amongst other topics. Enjoy

On this Episode we catch up with Luigi aka @chilliburn on Insta and YouTube and get updates on his Stabicraft 2400 purchase as well as discuss locations to fish when limited to Covid 19 lockdowns.

Its 2021 and with a Sydney Lockdown I decide to give the Local Legend of Newcastle David Rudder a call and discuss his success on the Jewfish / Mulloway. After speaking with him on an earlier podcast with his massive success with trolling deep diver lures as seen on his youtube channel, I was anxious to hear from him regarding what’s doing on Mulloway. Be sure to check out his channel after you listen to this episode. Head over to YouTube.com/aussfish

On this episode I discuss my very favourite, the good old method of catching southern calamari out of deep water

Due to popular demand and as a thanks to everyone as we approach our 2000th stream, I have caved in to the multiple messages and decided to talk targeting jewfish off the beach. Tune in and make sure to follow us on Spotify and Apple podcasts for more episodes and don’t forget to go back and listen to my earlier episodes

If you were to catch a snapper on a hardbody lure with a retrieving method, would you consider it a fluke? What about if you were trolling the same lure in deep water would you think the same? @daverudder on Instagram / aussfish on YouTube amongst others seem to be setting a trend on this style of chasing snapper that I first saw being done over 10 years ago. The tide seems to have turned for this method so be sure to check out Dave’s YouTube channel. Also don’t forget to check out Dave Austin Fishing on YouTube and @egihead on Instagram

Eric AKA @fishthetics on a weekly basis travels up and down the NSW coast searching for the perfect fishing experience. We talk about all things involved in high speed jigging for kingfish in deep water.
