The Fagradalsfjall volcano in Iceland began erupting again about a week ago. This inspired me to write this short piece. In 2019 we were planning to go to Iceland but because of the state of things, we couldn't go. I still love seeing photos of this unique place.

Amor Mio - My Love

For Victoria with all my love.

Inspired by C.S. Lewis "Voyage of the Dawn Treader".

All but the percussion was performed with Albion One and is my first composition using it. Albion is an excellent sample library but I have to admit, for me getting comfortable with it took some time. I started this piece almost 6 months ago and it just came together about a week ago. I'm used to using an orchestral library that has separate sections and solo instruments whereas Albion is different. You have instruments like High Strings and Low Strings instead of Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello and Bass. It was a bit challenging for me to change my thinking about orchestration but I'm happy with the result. Hope you like it!

The battle of Gettysburg was the turning point of the American Civil War. Had the Confederate States won the day in July of 1863, America might be a very different place today.
