Aaaaand that’s the end of that lesson! Dave can SEE WITH HIS EYES – Dave VIDI Z OČMI. DAVE SMELLS SMOKE – DAVE VOHA DIM. DAVE HEARS SIRENS – DAVE SLIŠI SIRENE, AND A CHILD IS CRYING – IN OTROK JOČE. Also, he learned that ONE MAN is EN ČLOVEK, TWO MEN are DVA ČLOVEKA, and PEOPLE are LJUDJE. Dave already knows that GASILCI are FIREFIGHTERS and the POLICE is POLICIJA.

Dave and Fani will discuss kids tommow, but today Dave learned FAMILY is DRUŽINA, KIDS are OTROCI, BOY is FANTEK and GIRL is PUNČKA. TOO EARLY is PREZGODAJ and YOUNG is MLAD. They agreed there's a whole FUTURE – PRIHODNOST in front of them and that TOMORROW – JUTRI everything will sort itself out…

It was quite an exhausting day for our couple, but it was worth it as they will soon be able to eat home-grown vegetables. Dave learned many new Slovene words as well, as they planted KROMPIR – POTATOES, FIŽOL – BEANS, KUMARICE – CUCUMBERS, PARADIŽNIK – TOMATOES and SOLATA – SALAD. But before they planted the seeds, some hard work had to be done, which involved using a SHOVEL – LOPATA, MOTIKA – HOE and GRABLJE – RAKE. But there is nothing like a home-grown salad and French fries, right?

Today Dave learned that SLASTNO means DELICIOUS, KIHATI is TO SNEEZE, KOLCANJE is HICCUPS, VIDIM – I SEE, SLIŠIM – I HEAR, VOHAM – I SMELL, POČUTIM – I FEEL and LEPO DIŠI – IT SMELLS GREAT! And the next time he goes out, he should try to avoid POLLEN – CVETNI PRAH... and mini muffins!

Today Dave learned that some people can be RUDE – NESRAMEN or NESRAMNA, UNGRATEFUL - NEHVALEŽEN or NEHVALEŽNA, and IMPATIENT – NEUČAKAN or NEUČAKANA. We all get MOODY – TEČEN or TEČNA, from time to time. Sometimes we do things that are STUPID or SILLY – NEUMNO, but also things that are UNBELIEVABLE - NEVERJETNO. Let's hope that Dave's day gets better when Fani's parents visit and it turns out to be NEPOZABNO – UNFORGETTABLE!

What a day for Dave... he had never been in such a situation before! But still what new words has he learned today? NIMA SMISLA - NO SENSE, SVET - WORLD, SVET SE MI JE PODRL – MY WORLD IS SHATTERED, ODSELITI SE – TO MOVE AWAY, STAROST - AGE, STARA KOKLJA – OLD CHICKEN, JUHA – SOUP, SAMSKI - SINGLE… and VREDNO JE POSKUSITI – IT’S WORTH A TRY... always :)

Dave is a great host…and a real grill master. Again, he learned some new words: MALE SKRIVNOSTI - LITTLE SECRETS, OGENJ - FIRE, PLAMEN - FLAME, ŽEJEN - THIRSTY, PERUTNIČKE - CHICKEN WINGS, RAŽNJIČI - SKEWERS, SHRAMBA - PANTRYand HUJŠATI - TO LOSE WEIGHT. Dave also knows very well what helps when it’s hot! :)

Dave is taking his Slovene learning very seriously .. khm khm.. Anyway, IN THE LIBRARY – V KNJIŽNICI he learned that a BOOK is a KNJIGA, a LIBRARIAN is a KNJIŽNIČAR/KA. Fani likes to read LOVE STORIES – LJUBEZENSKE ZGODBE and to RECOMMEND is PRIPOROČATI. He already knows ANIMALS are ŽIVALI, FAMILY is DRUŽINA, and from today he also knows that a FAIRYTALE is a PRAVLJICA and a PROFESSION is POKLIC. He needs to be a MEMBER – ČLAN and he needs his CARD or IZKAZNICA.

Well, Dave and Fani really had a stormy morning! Well, it was for Fani… but Dave, he learned some new words… SPIDER is PAJEK, TERRIBLE is GROZNO, GREY HAIR is SIV LAS and obviously that means a DISASTER – KATASTROFA. He also learned that HAIRDRESSER is FRIZER, TO PULL OUT is IZPULITI, MONDAY is PONEDELJEK, SCISSORS are ŠKARJE and TWEEZERS is PINCETA.

Well, while Dave can't sleep, he can practice his Slovene counting. That night he also learned COFFEE is KAVA, MOON is LUNA, which has this strong POWER – MOČ that is even stronger when the moon is FULL – POLNA. COUNTING SHEEP – PREŠTEVANJE OVAC doesn't help, also not DEEP BREATHS – GLOBOKI VDIHI.
