As a self-described secular Jew, author, and academic, David Berlinski, in an attempt to unveil scientific rhetoric and pretensions, declares to the theory of evolution: thou art weighted in the balances and found wanting. In this lecture given in June 2012 at the Union League Club in New York City, Berlinski directs these unanswered questions to the scientific community: Is morality a compulsive force? Can science prove that God does not exist? How might an organ like the brain develop beyond the needs of the possessor?
