Howard A. Snyder was born to missionary parents in the Dominican Republic in 1940, but was raised in Spring Arbor, Michigan. A graduate of Asbury Seminary and the University of Notre Dame (PhD), Snyder has devoted most of his ministry to teaching, writing, and pastoral work.
Has been Professor of Wesley Studies, Tyndale Seminary, Toronto, 2007-2012; Professor of the History and Theology of Mission, Asbury Theological Seminary, 1996-2006. Formerly taught and pastored in São Paulo, Brazil; Detroit, Michigan; and Chicago, Illinois.
