When we say things to ourselves like, "It will never change, it’s hopeless, God can’t forgive me, it’s just my personality, I can’t move past this, I am too tired to pray, I don’t have time to read the Bible, God doesn't care," who told you that? Do you know the source of the voice you are listening to? And can you recognise the fruit of the voice you are listening to? What does it look like to hear God's voice during the night? The watches of the night are not just referring to times when we are in bed or asleep. From a scriptural and historical context, the first watch started at sundown (around 6pm) and the last watch finished at sunrise (6am). Sometimes we are asleep to God’s voice during the day, so God needs to awaken us to His Word during the watches of the night!

God also speaks to people in dreams and visions. How can we discern the origin of our dreams - is what we are experiencing a soul dream, is it something from God, or is there another cause? What about nightmares or night terrors? Sally gives an overview from scripture on some of the ways God speaks through dreams, and how to respond to dreams that cause fear or dread.
