1 Samuel chapter 21 tells a short story of a time David should have been killed. He went to the city of Gath in enemy Philistine territory, was immediately recognized and apprehended. David pretends to be insane in order to be released. The story shows how God's salvation plan prevails in spite of us and our foolishness.
