It's the time when corporations across the country, prepare for their busiest sales period, plan for the annual reports to shareholders. And try to estimate the business climate going forward.

Interestingly, it's also the time when we're most likely to see market crashes.

Stocks down at the close for the fifth day in a row. The Dow was down over 270 points on the day. It all seemed to follow Apple Computer, which lost in a battle against the free market computer developers who sell their apps on Apple Marketplace. Apple today is down over 3% on the news.

I believe that the Street is all wrong, in how they are analyzing today's Producer Prices. And that it could have some dramatic miscalculations if we don't correct or at least modify this analysis.

Markets at the close today: all down. Most fractionally, with the weakest market the small-cap Russel 2000 down more than 1%. full percentage point.

The Bond market was marginally stronger today, on a very good 10-year auction by the US Treasury.

The number one trend right now, I believe is the continuing troubles over in China with Real Estate Developer Evergrande.

Bloomberg has just reported that Evergrande has decided to skip two interest payments to a couple of their bank lenders. Both payments would come due on the 21st of this month.
