Davut was a teacher in Turkey and talks about being a Political activist concerning human rights and having to move to the UK. His challenges with having to find his way in a new country, English being his second language set him up on the road of wanting to support the human rights of families of children with additional needs. Davut talks about his journey through working as a translator for Haringey Local Authority to then becoming a parent support advisor. Having done many courses in Special Educational Needs support as well as having his own teaching background he quickly became a great help to parents in the borough. Davut works in a local charity where he continued his training, he completed all levels of IPSEA, code of practice for children with SEN, their rights and the law.
