Dawgman.com's wanted to put something out that recapped all the news that has come out not just in the wake of Washington's 36-33 win over Oregon this past weekend, but the continued national reaction to the win, and what it could mean for the Huskies going forward - especially for quarterback Michael Penix Jr. And there's also some clarification on the current status of transfer EDGE player Zach Durfee.
There was also a number of other things that were newsworthy so far this week. The Huskies are unveiling a new uniform and helmet combination for their game against Arizona State this weekend. This week was also the unveiling of something completely different, yet still rooted in UW Athletics; the movie trailer for The Boys in the Boat, directed by George Clooney. Following the trail of the 1936 UW Rowing team that ended up winning gold at the Berlin Olympics was captured in a best-selling book by Daniel James Brown and adapted to the big screen.
There's also a quick discussion about recruiting and the impact the Huskies could have as they finish out their 2024 recruiting class and begin really dialing in on their top targets for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. We'll have a much more in-depth podcast with Scott Eklund that will break down the weekend and the specific targets Washington fans should be paying attention to moving forward.
