Words spoken near the end of life can carry unusual weight. Jacob gathers his sons and speaks over them with honesty, warning, blessing, and prophecy.
Jacob calls his sons together to tell them what will happen in days to come. He speaks first to Reuben, the firstborn, but says he will not have preeminence because of his sin.
Revelation 5 calls Jesus the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, who has conquered. That title grows out of Jacob’s blessing over Judah.
God tells the truth about sin while carrying forward His promise. He does not hide Reuben’s failure or Simeon and Levi’s violence.
Judah’s blessing points to Jesus, the Lion of Judah. He is the King who truly deserves obedience from the nations.
Ask God to help you receive truth about your life without hiding or collapsing. Write one honest warning you need to heed and one promise in Christ you need to remember.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: God’s future for you begins with truth, not denial.
Reflection Question: What truth do you need to face, and what mercy in Christ do you need to hold beside it?
Practice: Write one warning and one gospel promise, then pray over both honestly.

PRAYER
God, tell the truth in me without letting shame have the final word. Help me heed warnings, receive mercy, and trust Your future. Thank You for Jesus, the Lion of Judah and the Lamb who was slain for sinners like me.
