DAY 104: 1 Samuel 21–24; Psalm 91
1 Samuel 21–24 reveals a kingdom unraveling as Saul grasps for control through violence while David is driven into the wilderness, learning to trust God as his only refuge, a reality echoed in Psalm 91. Though hunted, betrayed, and given opportunities to seize power, David refuses to take what God has promised by force, showing that the kingdom is not secured by human striving but received through patient obedience. These chapters ultimately point to Christ, the true King who refuses every shortcut to power, entrusts Himself fully to the Father, and establishes an unshakable kingdom by conquering through obedience, suffering, and sacrificial victory.
