DAY 82: Introduction to Joshua
The book of Joshua marks the moment when God’s long-promised inheritance begins to be possessed. After generations of waiting, wandering, and discipline, Israel stands at the edge of the land, and the Lord Himself goes before them to secure victory. This is not ultimately Israel’s conquest but God’s, as He fulfills His promises through divine power and covenant faithfulness. Joshua’s very name, “The Lord saves,” points beyond this moment to Christ, the greater Joshua, who leads a global conquest over sin, death, and darkness and brings His people into an everlasting inheritance.
