Sometimes forgiveness has to be trusted again after fear returns. Jacob dies, and Joseph’s brothers panic.
After Jacob’s death, Joseph’s brothers become afraid that Joseph will hate them and repay them for all the evil they did to him. They send a message claiming that Jacob asked Joseph to forgive them.
Romans 8 says God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Joseph’s words do not mean evil becomes good.
God is sovereign over human evil without being guilty of it. He can take what others mean for harm and bend it toward life.
Joseph forgives brothers who betrayed Him, but Jesus forgives enemies who nailed Him to the cross. Human evil put Christ there, yet God meant the cross for the salvation of many.
Name one person or situation where revenge still feels attractive. Tell God the evil honestly.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: Forgiveness does not call evil good; it trusts God to be Judge and Redeemer.
Reflection Question: Where are you tempted to hold onto revenge because trusting God with justice feels risky?
Practice: Pray “You are the Judge, not me” over one painful situation, then choose one response that refuses revenge.

PRAYER
God, You know the wrongs done against me and the wrongs I have done. Help me trust Your justice instead of taking Your place. Teach me forgiveness that tells the truth and releases revenge.
