Wanting justice is not the same as being ready to carry it rightly. Moses sees an Egyptian beating a Hebrew man, and he reacts with violence.
When Moses grows up, he goes out to see His people and witnesses their burdens. He sees an Egyptian beating a Hebrew man, looks around, kills the Egyptian, and hides him in the sand.
Acts 7 explains that Moses thought his brothers would understand that God was giving them salvation by his hand, but they did not. This context helps us see Moses’ early zeal and failure.
God hears groaning and remembers His covenant. His remembering does not mean He had forgotten; it means He is about to act faithfully.
Moses flees after failed deliverance, but Jesus comes as the true Deliverer who never sins in His zeal for justice. He sees our bondage, hears our need, and gives Himself at the cross to free us from sin and death.
Name one injustice or burden that makes you angry. Bring it to God before reacting.
