It is discouraging when obedience makes things harder at first. You finally tell the truth, set the boundary, ask for help, or obey God, and the pressure increases.
Moses and Aaron go to Pharaoh and say the Lord commands him to let Israel go hold a feast in the wilderness. Pharaoh responds, “Who is the Lord?” and refuses to listen.
Second Timothy 3 says all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Exodus 5 gives an early picture of that reality.
God is not surprised by Pharaoh’s resistance. He warned Moses that Pharaoh would not release Israel easily.
Jesus obeys the Father and faces fierce opposition. Religious leaders reject Him, crowds turn, and Rome crucifies Him.
Name one place where doing the right thing has made life harder. Bring your frustration to God without pretending.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: Pharaoh’s resistance is not proof that God’s promise has failed.
Reflection Question: Where are you tempted to quit obeying because the first result was pressure instead of relief?
Practice: Write one honest complaint to God, then write one faithful next step beneath it.

PRAYER
God, I get discouraged when obedience makes things harder. Help me not to measure Your faithfulness by immediate relief. I bring You my frustration and fear.
