Counterfeits can look convincing for a while. A fake apology, fake confidence, fake spirituality, or fake power may impress people at first.
The Lord tells Moses that He has made him like God to Pharaoh, and Aaron will be his prophet. Moses must speak everything God commands, and Aaron must tell Pharaoh to let Israel go.
Second Timothy 3 mentions Jannes and Jambres opposing Moses and says they opposed the truth with corrupted minds, but their folly would eventually become plain. That echoes Pharaoh’s magicians.
God is not threatened by imitation. Pharaoh’s magicians can copy a sign, but Aaron’s staff swallows theirs.
Aaron’s staff swallowing the magicians’ staffs points to God’s victory over false powers. Jesus fulfills that victory completely.
Think of one counterfeit you are tempted to trust: image, hype, spiritual trend, popularity, control, or a confident lie. Ask whether it leads you toward the Lord or away from Him.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: Counterfeit power may imitate truth, but it cannot swallow God’s authority.
Reflection Question: What impressive-looking counterfeit are you tempted to trust more than God’s truth?
Practice: Identify one counterfeit influence and take one step away from its control today.

PRAYER
Lord, give me discernment when false things look impressive. Keep me from trusting image, hype, or counterfeit power. Soften my inner life where I resist truth.
