Sometimes God makes a difference that everyone can see. Pharaoh has treated Israel like property, but the Lord draws a line between His people and Egypt.
The Lord tells Moses to meet Pharaoh early in the morning and repeat the command: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.” If Pharaoh refuses, swarms of flies will come on Pharaoh, His servants, His people, and his houses. But God will set apart the land of Goshen, where His people live, so no flies will be there.
Exodus 9:4 repeats this pattern when God says He will make a distinction between Israel’s livestock and Egypt’s livestock. That context shows the fourth plague is part of a growing revelation.
God knows how to protect and distinguish His people in the middle of judgment. Goshen is not spared because Israel is powerful, but because the Lord claims them.
God sets apart Israel in Goshen, and Jesus sets apart His people through His own blood. Christ does not save us so we can remain under slavery with religious language added.
Look for one “Egypt compromise” in your life: an area where you want to obey God only if old patterns stay in charge. Name it honestly.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: Compromise can let you sound spiritual while still living under old control.
Reflection Question: Where are you trying to obey God only on terms that still protect your comfort or control?
Practice: Identify one compromise and take one specific step toward whole obedience today.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You for claiming Your people as Your own. Show me where I am trying to worship You while staying under old control. Keep me from convenient compromises that weaken obedience.
