A warning becomes mercy when it gives people time to respond. Before the hail falls, God tells Egypt exactly what is coming.
The Lord tells Moses to rise early and warn Pharaoh that the plagues will show there is none like Him in all the earth. God says He could have wiped Egypt out, but He has raised Pharaoh up to show His power and proclaim His name.
Psalm 105 remembers this plague by saying God gave hail for rain and flaming fire in the land, striking vines and fig trees. The psalm places the hail inside the larger story of God’s mighty acts.
God is powerful, patient, and purposeful. He warns before He strikes, limits destruction according to His purpose, and declares that His name will be proclaimed in all the earth.
The hail falls in judgment, but Jesus stands under the greater judgment sinners deserve. He does not merely warn us to take shelter; He becomes our shelter.
Think of one warning from Scripture you need to take seriously. Act on it before the storm forces the issue.

PRAYER
Lord, help me fear Your word in a way that leads to obedience. Keep me from shallow confession that disappears when pressure lifts. Thank You that Jesus is my shelter from judgment.
