DAY 131: 2 Samuel 10; 1 Chronicles 19; Psalm 20
2 Samuel 10, 1 Chronicles 19, and Psalm 20 reveal the kingdom of David facing hostility, humiliation, and warfare as surrounding nations place their confidence in visible military power and human strength. Yet these passages repeatedly show that covenant victory does not ultimately belong to armies, alliances, or earthly might, but to the Lord who defends His people and establishes His kingdom through faithful dependence upon Him. They ultimately point to Christ, the true Anointed King, who secures victory not through worldly power but through His cross, resurrection, and reigning authority, advancing an unshakable kingdom through the power of the Gospel rather than the strength of men.
