Need can make trust feel thin. Israel has seen the sea open, manna fall, and quail arrive, but now there is no water.
Israel travels by stages according to the Lord’s command and camps at Rephidim, where there is no water to drink. The people quarrel with Moses, demanding water.
First Corinthians 10 says Israel drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. Paul sees more than a wilderness miracle.
God provides even when His people are accusing Him. He does not ignore their need, and He does not pretend their testing is harmless.
The struck rock points to Jesus, who is struck for sinners so living water can flow. At the cross, Christ bears judgment and opens the way for thirsty people to come to God.
When a need makes you question God’s presence, name the need clearly without accusing Him. Pray, “Lord, meet me here.” Then remember one past provision and let it answer the fear that He has abandoned you.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: Need does not prove abandonment; it can become the place where God provides.
Reflection Question: What need is tempting you to question whether God is really with you?
Practice: Write one current need and one past provision, then pray over both.

PRAYER
Lord, I get afraid when needs feel urgent. I start questioning whether You are with me. Forgive my accusations and meet me with mercy.
