Some battles cannot be won by effort alone, but they also are not won without effort. Israel faces Amalek in the wilderness.
Amalek comes and attacks Israel at Rephidim. Moses tells Joshua to choose men and fight Amalek while Moses stands on the hill with the staff of God in his hand.
Hebrews 7 says Jesus always lives to intercede for those who draw near to God through Him. Moses’ raised hands echo the need for an intercessor during battle.
God is the banner over His people in battle. Victory does not come from Israel’s strength alone, Joshua’s skill alone, or Moses’ endurance alone.
Moses intercedes with tired arms, but Jesus intercedes forever with resurrection life. He fought the decisive battle against sin and death at the cross, rose victorious, and now represents His people before the Father.
Ask where you are trying to fight alone. Tell one trustworthy person what battle you are facing and ask for prayer or practical support.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: Shared weakness is often how God sustains obedience in long battles.
Reflection Question: Where do you need support, prayer, or help instead of trying to fight alone?
Practice: Ask one trusted person for prayer or support, and encourage one person who seems tired.

PRAYER
Lord, You are my Banner. Forgive me for trying to fight alone or pretending I do not need help. Thank You for Jesus, who always lives to intercede for me.
