DAY 141: 2 Samuel 22–23; Psalm 57
2 Samuel 22–23 and Psalm 57 bring us into the closing reflections of an older David who, after decades of warfare, betrayal, suffering, failure, and deliverance, looks back and declares that God alone has been his rock, refuge, shield, and sustaining strength. These passages contrast human weakness and imperfection with the unwavering covenant faithfulness of God, revealing that lasting stability is never found in personal greatness, political success, or earthly security, but in the Lord who preserves His king and fulfills His promises despite human frailty. They ultimately point to Christ, the true and final righteous King, whose kingdom cannot fail, whose covenant never breaks, and whose reign extends across the earth until every enemy is placed beneath His feet.
