Belonging changes how you live. If you know you are loved, claimed, and given a purpose, you do not have to build your identity from scratch every day.

Three months after leaving Egypt, Israel comes to the wilderness of Sinai and camps before the mountain. Moses goes up to God, and the Lord tells him to remind Israel what they saw Him do to Egypt and how He carried them on eagles’ wings to Himself.

First Peter 2 uses Sinai language for believers in Christ: chosen race, royal priesthood, holy nation, God’s own people. What Israel is called to be at Sinai finds fulfillment in the church through Jesus.

God rescues people for relationship and purpose. He does not merely remove Israel from Egypt; He brings them to Himself.

Israel was called God’s treasured possession after being brought out of Egypt. Through Jesus, that calling expands to all who trust Him.

Write one identity statement from 1 Peter 2:9 in your own words. Then choose one action today that matches that identity, especially in a place where you usually try to fit in.
