Some moments remind you that God is not casual. He is not a mascot for your plans or a background comfort you can manage.
On the third day, thunder and lightning cover the mountain, a thick cloud rests on it, and a loud trumpet blast makes the people tremble. Moses brings the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stand at the foot of the mountain.
Hebrews 12 contrasts Sinai with Mount Zion, the heavenly city, and Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant. Believers do not come to less holiness, but to fuller grace through Christ.
God is holy beyond human control. His presence shakes the mountain, sets boundaries, and requires mediation.
Jesus is the mediator greater than Moses. He brings us to God not by lowering God’s holiness, but by cleansing us through His blood.
Take two quiet minutes before prayer. Do not rush in with requests immediately.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: Jesus does not make God less holy; He makes sinners able to come near.
Reflection Question: Where have you become casual with God in a way that forgets His holiness?
Practice: Spend two quiet minutes remembering God’s holiness before you make any requests in prayer.

PRAYER
Holy God, You are not casual, small, or manageable. Thank You for making a way for me to come near through Jesus. Teach me reverence without terror and confidence without pride.
