Rules can feel restrictive when you forget the relationship behind them. Exodus 20 does not begin with a command.
God speaks to Israel and identifies Himself as the Lord who brought them out of slavery. He commands them to have no other gods, make no idols, not misuse His name, and remember the Sabbath day.
In Matthew 22, Jesus says the greatest commandments are to love the Lord your God with all your being and love your neighbor as yourself. He says the Law and Prophets depend on these.
God is holy, personal, and concerned with the whole of life. He cares what His people worship, how they speak His name, how they rest, and how they treat others.
Jesus fulfills the law perfectly. He loves the Father fully and His neighbors sacrificially.
Choose one commandment and ask how it relates to love for God or neighbor. Then practice it concretely today: tell the truth, honor a parent, rest from striving, refuse envy, or protect someone’s dignity.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: God’s commands are not chains for the redeemed; they are the shape of love in freedom.
Reflection Question: Which commandment most clearly exposes where your love for God or neighbor needs growth?
Practice: Choose one commandment and practice it in one visible action today.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You for rescuing before commanding. Show me where Your law exposes my need and guides my love. Forgive me through Jesus, who fulfilled the law for me.
