Doing what is right gets harder when people around you are pushing the other direction. A rumor spreads.
God commands Israel not to spread false reports, join hands with the wicked, or follow a crowd in doing evil. They must not twist justice by favoring either the poor or the powerful unfairly.
In Matthew 5, Jesus teaches His followers to love their enemies and pray for those who persecute them, because the Father shows kindness beyond human categories. Exodus 23 already points in that direction.
God is truthful, impartial, merciful, and attentive to the weak. He hates false reports, bribery, crowd-driven injustice, and oppression.
Jesus fulfills truth and enemy love perfectly. He refuses falsehood, defends the vulnerable, and loves enemies all the way to the cross.
Refuse one crowd-shaped wrong today. Do not pass along a rumor, do not join mockery, or help someone you would rather avoid.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: God’s people do not let the crowd decide what is true or merciful.
Reflection Question: Where are you most tempted to follow the crowd into gossip, bias, revenge, or overwork?
Practice: Refuse one crowd-shaped wrong and choose one concrete act of truth or mercy today.

PRAYER
God, make me truthful when the crowd loves rumors and simply when bias feels easier. Teach me to do good even to people I dislike. Help me rest as someone who trusts You.
