DAY 154: Proverbs 1–3
Proverbs 1–3 lays the foundation for the entire wisdom tradition by declaring that true wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord and that every human being ultimately walks one of two paths: wisdom or folly, covenant faithfulness or rebellion, life or destruction. These chapters portray wisdom not as morally neutral intelligence, but as a way of seeing reality beneath God’s authority, shaping desires, relationships, choices, speech, sexuality, work, and worship while warning against the seductive voices of greed, pride, violence, self-reliance, and immediate gratification. They ultimately point to Jesus Christ, the wisdom of God incarnate, who perfectly walked the path of righteousness, trusted the Father completely, and through the Gospel transforms foolish sinners into wise sons and daughters who increasingly live beneath His righteous reign.
