DAY 156: Proverbs 7–9

Proverbs 7–9 brings the opening section of Proverbs to its dramatic climax by portraying Wisdom and Folly as two rival women calling humanity toward two radically different destinies. The seductive adulteress of Proverbs 7 offers secret pleasure that ultimately leads to death, while Lady Wisdom in Proverbs 8–9 openly calls people to life, understanding, covenant faithfulness, and the fear of the Lord. These chapters reveal that wisdom is not merely about information or intelligence, but about worship, desire, allegiance, and the loves that govern the heart. Every person is being invited to one of two tables, one leading to life and communion with God, the other leading to destruction and death.
