Clothing can communicate identity before you say anything. A uniform, robe, jersey, or badge can show role, responsibility, and belonging.
God tells Moses to bring Aaron and his sons near so they may serve Him as priests. Skilled workers, filled with a spirit of wisdom, are to make holy garments for Aaron for glory and beauty.
First Peter 2 says believers are being built into a spiritual house as a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Aaron’s priesthood points forward to a greater reality.
God provides representation for His people. Aaron bears Israel’s names before the Lord, showing that God wants His people remembered in His presence.
Aaron bears Israel’s names on His shoulders, but Jesus bears His people more fully. He carries our sin at the cross and brings our names before the Father as the true High Priest.
Choose two people and bring them before God by name. Pray specifically for their needs, faith, protection, or repentance.
