Cleanliness, scent, and touch can all signal that something matters. You wash before a meal, use oil for healing skin, or recognize someone by a familiar fragrance.
God commands Moses to make a bronze basin for washing, placed between the tent of meeting and the altar. Aaron and his sons must wash their hands and feet before entering the tent or approaching the altar, so they do not die.
Second Corinthians 2 says believers are the aroma of Christ to God among those being saved and among those perishing. Exodus speaks of sacred fragrance tied to worship and holiness.
God distinguishes holy from common. He cares about cleansing before service, anointing for consecration, and incense reserved for worship.
Jesus cleanses His people, consecrates them to God, and makes their lives a pleasing aroma. He is anointed by the Spirit and offers Himself at the cross in perfect obedience.
Before doing one act of service, pause and ask God to cleanse your motives. Then serve quietly and faithfully, aiming to leave the aroma of Christ rather than the impression of yourself.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: Service before God needs clean hands and motives that do not worship self.
Reflection Question: Where are you tempted to use spiritual service or language to make yourself look impressive?
Practice: Do one act of service quietly today after asking God to cleanse your motives.

PRAYER
God, wash what is unclean in me and set me apart for Your service. Keep me from using holy things to build my image. Let my life carry the aroma of Christ through humility, love, and truth.
