When everything feels uncertain, you may ask for a sign, a plan, or a guarantee. Moses asks for something deeper: God’s presence and God’s glory.

Moses speaks with the Lord about leading Israel. He says God has told him to bring up the people but has not fully shown him who will go with him.

Second Corinthians 4 says God has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of His glory in the face of Jesus Christ. Moses could not see God’s face fully and live.

God is glorious beyond human capacity, yet generous in self-revelation. He protects Moses from what would overwhelm Him and still grants a real encounter with His goodness and name.

The glory Moses longed to see is revealed in Jesus Christ. At the cross, God’s glory looks like mercy, justice, goodness, and self-giving love.

Pray Moses’ prayer in your own words: “Show me Your glory.” Then look for God’s glory in Jesus by reading one Gospel paragraph slowly and naming one thing about God you see there.
