Boundaries can help you understand what matters. A courtroom, a hospital operating room, or a stage all signal that you should not treat the space casually.
Bezalel makes the bronze altar of acacia wood, with horns on its corners, bronze overlay, utensils, grating, rings, and poles for carrying it. He also makes the bronze basin and its stand from mirrors given by the women serving at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
Hebrews 13 says believers have an altar from which those serving the tent have no right to eat. The verse points beyond the old tabernacle system to Christ and His sacrifice.
God provides a real way to approach Him. The altar shows sacrifice is necessary.
Jesus fulfills the altar by offering Himself for sin. He also cleanses His people and brings them near.
When you feel unworthy to pray, do not run away. Come through Jesus.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: God makes approach possible without making holiness cheap.
Reflection Question: Are you more likely to minimize your sin or stay away from God in shame?
Practice: Confess one sin plainly, thank Jesus for His sacrifice, and pray instead of hiding.

PRAYER
God, thank You for making a way for sinners to come near. I confess that I often either minimize sin or avoid You in shame. Bring me to Jesus, my true altar and sacrifice.
