Humor Is Needed Armor – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps.  We are on Day 1840 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.
Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!"  If
you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Hugh Sidey, and it is, “A sense of humor is needed armor. Joy in one’s heart and some laughter on one’s lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life.”
Humor Is Needed Armor
A good sense of humor is one of the essential elements of life to live healthy and emotionally balanced. In addition, humor acts as armor to protect us from all of the hostile forces that bombard us daily. As citizens of God’s kingdom, we need to oppose those negative forces with an abundant supply of joy, coupled with many doses of laughter throughout the day. Joy comes from the inner peace we have, knowing that God controls every situation no matter what happens in our lives.
So supplement your joy with humor, which can be reading or listening to funny stories, watching humorous programs, or laughing at yourself when you do or say something silly, as we all do. Laughter has many health benefits to your body, soul, and mind. Never take life too seriously; instead, live a rich and satisfying life as God would desire for us. After all, we are children of the King, and we should celebrate and enjoy every day of life. So look for humor throughout each day.
Proverbs 17:22
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.
Psalm 126:2-3
We were filled with laughter,
and we sang for joy.
And the other nations said,
“What amazing things the Lord has done for them.”
Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us!
What joy!
As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.
