Grow Continuously – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1935 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.
Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Les Brown, and it is, "All of us need to grow continuously in our lives."
Grow Continuously
As with everything in nature, we are either in a state of growth or decay. No one stays static for any length of time. Growth must be fostered in all areas of our lives, but not necessarily at the same growth rate. During the different seasons of life, we may focus more on specific areas such as spiritual, family, physical, mental, social, financial, and career. Still, all must experience some level of continuous growth, or our lives will be like a flat tire, making us ride through life very rough.
After a period of fast growth in one area, there will need to be a time for the maturation of that growth. Let me use the analogy of a tree. During the springtime, when the sap flows through the tree trunk to feed the limbs and leaves, the tree will add a lot of new wood fibers. During the remainder of that year, the fibers will take on a new phase and harden into solid wood. We need both persistence to move forward and patience to allow the recent growth in our lives to mature.
You must take on the mindset of a farmer who knows and understands that the crop will not be ready to harvest until many steps are completed. The ground is plowed, the seeds are planted, if the seeds are watered and cared for, the plants will grow, and only after a long period of growth will the harvest results be available. Keep on growing throughout your life until the great harvest at the end of your days is completed.
James 5:7-8
Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.
As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.
