In this episode of Reading Through the Bible Together, we’re finishing Leviticus with chapters 21–27, where God shows Israel what holiness looks like when it gets specific.

The priests are held to a higher standard because they represent the people before God. The calendar is shaped by worship through the appointed festivals, reminding Israel that time itself belongs to the Lord. We see oil for the lampstand, bread set before God, and justice even in hard cases. Then the Lord lays out sabbath years and jubilee, building mercy into the economy and protection into the land. Finally, the book closes with blessings and warnings, and with vows and offerings, because God is not only worthy of obedience. He’s worthy of trust.

Leviticus ends by pressing one question into the soul: will Israel live as the Lord’s redeemed people, or will they run back to the patterns of Egypt? And for us, it’s the same call, but with a clearer answer: Jesus has fulfilled what Leviticus anticipated. He is our true Priest, our atoning sacrifice, and our rest. In Him, holiness is not a ladder we climb, but a life that flows from grace.
