Some promises sound impossible because you know too much. You know the obstacles, the history, the delays, the medical facts, the family patterns, the odds.
God changes Sarai’s name to Sarah and promises to bless her. She will have a son, and kings of peoples will come from her.
Romans 4 reflects on Abraham’s faith and says he hoped against hope. He faced the reality of his aged body and Sarah’s barrenness, yet he grew strong in faith because he believed God could do what He promised.
God is specific and sovereign. He names Isaac before the child exists and sets an appointed time for His birth.
Isaac’s promised birth points forward to the greater miracle of Christ. God brings life where human strength cannot produce it.
Name one situation where you have stopped expecting God to work because it seems too late or too unlikely. Tell Him the honest reason hope feels hard.

Practice: Write one unlikely situation before God, then take one clear step of obedience while you wait.

PRAYER
God, I admit that hope can scare me when disappointment feels familiar. Thank You that Your promises do not depend on what looks possible to me. Strengthen my faith, help me obey in the waiting, and keep my eyes on Jesus’ resurrection power.
