DAY 30: Exodus 1-3

What happens when God’s promises start to threaten power?

In today’s episode of Five Minute Bible, we arrive at Exodus 1–3, where the story resumes not with peace, but with pressure. God’s promise has grown. The family has become a people. And now that growth collides with a ruler who is determined to stop it.

These chapters introduce a world where blessing is feared, power is insecure, and violence is used to control what God intends to multiply. The tension is not merely political. It is theological. Something God is growing has drawn the attention of an enemy who senses the threat.

As you read today, keep this guiding question in mind:
What happens when human power sets itself against what God has promised to grow?

Watch how fear produces oppression, how opposition accelerates rather than halts God’s purposes, and how deliverance begins long before anyone recognizes it as such. The conflict is being set. The pieces are moving. And the God who hears the cries of His people is about to make Himself known.
