DAY 43: Exodus 39-40

What is redemption ultimately for?

In today’s episode of Five Minute Bible, we arrive at the climax of Exodus. The plagues are finished. The sea has parted. The covenant has been given. The tabernacle has been built. Now one question remains:

Will God actually dwell with this people?

Exodus 39–40 is not dramatic in the way the Red Sea was dramatic. It is deliberate. Repetitive. Careful. The priestly garments are completed just as the Lord commanded. The tabernacle is assembled just as the Lord commanded. Every piece is placed. Every drop of oil applied. Every instruction obeyed.

Then it happens.

The cloud descends. The glory fills the tabernacle so powerfully that even Moses cannot enter. The God who thundered at Sinai now moves in among His redeemed people.

Exodus does not end with Israel’s triumph. It ends with God’s presence. That is the goal of redemption. Not escape. Not prosperity. Not independence. Communion.

As you read today, consider this guiding question:
If God gave you freedom but not His presence, would that be enough?

Tomorrow we step into Leviticus, where the question shifts from whether God will dwell with His people to how sinful people can continue dwelling with a holy God.
