Leaving a toxic situation can feel both necessary and terrifying. You may know something has changed, but fear keeps asking what will happen next.

Jacob hears Laban’s sons saying he has taken their father’s wealth, and he notices that Laban no longer treats him the same way. Then the Lord tells Jacob to return to the land of his fathers and promises to be with him.

Psalm 121 says the Lord keeps His people, watches over their going out and coming in, and neither slumbers nor sleeps. Jacob’s departure shows why that matters.

God sees mistreatment over time. He tells Jacob that He has seen all Laban has done.

Jacob returns toward the promised land under God’s protection, but Jesus leaves glory to enter our broken world and bring us back to the Father. He sees our bondage more clearly than we do.

Name one situation where God may be calling you to stop staying stuck. Ask for wisdom, not impulse.

God, thank You for seeing what has worn me down over time. Give me wisdom when leaving or changing feels scary. Keep me from fear, revenge, and compromise.
