Facing someone you have hurt can make your stomach tighten. You wonder what they remember, whether they are still angry, and whether the past will finally catch up with you.
Jacob goes on His way, and angels of God meet him. He names the place Mahanaim, meaning two camps.
Philippians 4 tells believers not to be anxious about anything, but to bring requests to God with prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving, and God’s peace will guard them. Jacob’s prayer is not polished or calm at first.
God meets Jacob before Jacob meets Esau. The angels remind Him that He is not alone, even before the conflict is resolved.
Jacob approaches Esau hoping for mercy, but Jesus moves toward His enemies to give mercy. We were not merely anxious; we were guilty before God.
Name one conversation or unresolved situation you fear. Pray about it before you plan your words.

REFLECT & RESPOND
Key Line: Fear can become a doorway to prayer instead of a command to run.
Reflection Question: What unresolved relationship or conversation do you need to bring honestly before God?
Practice: Pray specifically about one feared conversation, then write one humble sentence you may need to say.

PRAYER
God, I bring You the conflict I would rather avoid. I am afraid of what might happen and what I might have to admit. Guard me with Your peace, help me act with humility, and remind me that Jesus has already secured my deepest peace with You.
