In this episode of Reading Through the Bible Together, we’re reading 1 Chronicles 6–10, where the genealogies continue but begin to highlight worship and leadership.

The Levites and priests are given special attention, showing the importance of worship in Israel’s identity. These chapters remind us that life with God is centered on His presence and the proper ordering of worship.

Then the narrative shifts in chapter 10 with the death of Saul. His downfall is summarized not just as a military defeat, but as a spiritual failure. He did not seek the Lord, and it cost him everything.

This transition prepares us for the rise of David, the king who will lead differently.
