DAY 71: Deuteronomy 1–2

Deuteronomy 1–2 begins Moses’ first sermon as Israel stands on the edge of the promised land. He recounts how the previous generation once stood at this same moment but refused to trust God when fear spread through the camp after the report of the spies. Their unbelief led to forty years of wandering until that generation passed away. Yet God’s promise remained, and now their children stand ready to inherit what their parents rejected. These chapters remind us that fear can delay God’s blessings, and they ultimately point to Christ, the faithful Son who trusted the Father perfectly and secures the inheritance His people could never obtain on their own.
