Day 73: Deuteronomy 8-10

DAY 73: Deuteronomy 8–10

Deuteronomy 8–10 calls Israel to remember the wilderness before stepping into the prosperity of the promised land. Moses explains that the hardships of those forty years were meant to teach dependence on God and warns that future success could easily lead to pride and forgetfulness. He also recalls the rebellion of the golden calf to remind the people that their inheritance comes from God’s mercy, not their righteousness. These chapters show that remembering God’s faithfulness guards the heart from pride and ultimately point to Christ, the faithful Son who succeeded in the wilderness where Israel failed and who secures covenant mercy for His people.
