Family trees can feel boring until you realize every name belonged to a real person with fears, choices, grief, and hopes. Genesis 5 may look like a list, but it is not filler.
Genesis 5 traces the line from Adam to Noah. It reminds us that God made humanity in His likeness and that Adam had a son in his own likeness.
Hebrews 11 remembers Enoch as a man who pleased God by faith. Genesis says Enoch lived closely with God; Hebrews tells us that this closeness came through trust.
God sees individual lives inside long generations. Genesis 5 could have flattened everyone into a list, but God remembers names.
The repeated deaths in Genesis 5 prepare us to understand why Jesus came. Death is not natural peace; it is the enemy sin brought into God’s world.
Look at your schedule for the next twenty-four hours. Choose one ordinary moment, like brushing your teeth, entering school, opening your laptop, or eating lunch.
