DAY 83: Joshua 5–8
Joshua 5–8 reveals that God’s victories are secured not through human strength, but through covenant faithfulness. Before the first battle, Israel is consecrated, reminded that obedience comes before conquest. Jericho falls through trust in God’s Word, not military power, while Ai stands as a sobering reminder that hidden sin can undo visible strength. Only when sin is dealt with and obedience restored does victory return. These chapters point to Christ, the true Commander of the Lord’s army, who leads His people in triumph, welcomes outsiders like Rahab through faith, and decisively removes sin so that His people can stand in holiness and inherit what God has promised.
