Joshua 9–11 reveals that even in the midst of victory, God’s people must remain dependent on Him. Israel secures major victories as the Lord fights for them, yet their failure to seek His counsel with the Gibeonites introduces lasting consequences. These chapters show that success can quietly lead to self-reliance, even while God continues advancing His purposes. At the same time, they point to Christ, the greater conqueror who defeats sin and death perfectly and whose obedience never wavers, while still extending mercy to outsiders who seek refuge in Him.
