It is possible for a whole culture to normalize what should grieve us. Cruelty becomes entertainment.

Genesis 6 describes humanity growing in number and corruption. The “sons of God” take wives as they choose, and the passage shows a world driven by appetite, power, and disregard for God’s order.

Jesus compares the days before His return to the days of Noah. People were eating, drinking, marrying, and carrying on as if judgment would never come.

God is not emotionally distant from human evil. Genesis says He grieves.

Jesus came into a world still marked by the corruption Genesis 6 describes. He did not join human rebellion or look away from it.

Pay attention to one thing you have started calling normal that God calls destructive. It might be a joke, a habit, a show, a relationship pattern, or a private thought loop.

REFLECT & RESPOND

Key Line: What feels normal to a culture can still grieve the God who made it.

Reflection Question: What have you been tempted to accept because the people around you no longer question it?

Practice: Remove or pause one influence today that is training you to treat sin as harmless.

PRAYER

God, I do not want to become numb to what grieves You. Show me where I have accepted corruption because it feels normal around me. Give me courage to turn from what damages me and others.
