They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” “They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”). — John 20:13-16

But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you." -- Matthew 28: 5-7

Dear Lord, we thank you for dying for us on the cross. Thank you for taking back the keys of death, hell and the grave and for raising again on the third day. We are grateful that one day we will reign with You in heaven and live with You in eternity. Help us to understand Your message of salvation and to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Help us to be as bold as Paul and the apostles in sharing the Gospel to win souls for Your kingdom. Help us to remember the importance of the Easter story which guaranteed our salvation and redemption to God. Thank You for Your love and sacrifice for us on the Cross and help us to remember that the same power who raised you from the dead lives in us. Help us to remember the great commission and the power of the Holy Spirit who lives and reigns in us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

“Then the two from Emmaus told their story of how Jesus had appeared to them as they were walking along the road, and how they had recognized him as he was breaking the bread. And just as they were telling about it, Jesus himself was suddenly standing there among them. ‘Peace be with you,’ he said. But the whole group was startled and frightened, thinking they were seeing a ghost! ‘Why are you frightened?’ he asked. ‘Why are your hearts filled with doubt? Look at my hands. Look at my feet. You can see that it’s really me. Touch me and make sure that I am not a ghost, because ghosts don’t have bodies, as you see that I do.’ As he spoke, he showed them his hands and his feet.” – Luke 24:35-40
